Nameri National Park

Straddling the lush vistas of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Nameri National Park is ideal for a leisurely angling vacation. The mahseer of this region is legendary, particularly the golden Mahseer. You can also go river rafting. Nameri is also home to the clouded leopard, tiger, Indian bison and capped langur amongst its wild inhabitants.

Wildlife Species

Assamese macaque, wild dog, Bengal fox, jungle cat, hog deer, mouse deer, leopard, tiger, fishing cat, wild boar, Indian porcupine, Indian pangolin, flying squirrel, Bombax ceiba, sterculia villosa, zizypphus jujube along with non aquatic grassland species like andropogon, Ipomea reptans, enhydra flushians, nymphia, wichornia etc.

Getting There

By Air: The nearest airport is Saloni about 10-km from Tezpur, in Sonitpur district, which is 181-km away from Guwahati.

By Rail: Nameri National Park is connected with the network of Indian Railways with the nearest Railway Station is Rangapara, which is 60-Kms from Bhalukpong, which is 21-km from the park, in Sonitpur district.

By Road: Nameri National Park is well connected by the local and national highways that connect it with al the major cities of Assam. However, regular buses ply to and from Tezpur.
