Delhi PanoramaDuration: 03 Nights/ 04 DaysDestinations Covered: Old and New Delhi Delhi, the capital of India is divided into two parts known as old Delhi and New Delhi. Thousands of visitors come to Delhi to visit several tourist places and ancient monuments. Old Delhi was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. This time several Indo-Islamic architectural monuments were built. New Delhi was designed and constructed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker. New Delhi is the perfect example of East and West cultures. Day 01Arrive at Delhi International Airport where our travel manager will receive you and take you to your hotel. Be fresh and take rest for sometime. In the afternoon depart for sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. This tour will include some of the historical places like Red Fort, Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid. Come back in the evening to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.Red Fort: Red Fort is a majestic fort built by red stones in between 1639-1648 AD. This fort presents several Indo-Islamic architecture buildings inside it. In the evening, Delhi Tourism Department organizes a light and sound show which narrates the history of Delhi in context of the Red Fort. Chandni Chowk: Chandni Chowk is a beautiful place situated just in front of Red Fort. This is the most visited place by the locals as this is the biggest market of Delhi. The hurrying crowd, the shouting vendors and overcrowded shops are the real charm of this place. From here you can easily find and buy some of the best items starting from textiles, jewelry, home furnishings, spices, household items to electronics, chemicals, ceramics, electrical, etc. Jama Masjid: Jama Masjid is the biggest mosque of India. This mosque was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1650 AD. This is the beautiful example of architectural beauty of the past. This mosque has three gateways, four angle towers and two 40 m high minarets. From the top of the minarets you can have a bird's eye view of Old and New Delhi. Day 2Wake up in the morning, be fresh, take your breakfast and step out from the hotel for sightseeing tour of Outer Delhi. Today you will visit some the old and some new era buildings of Delhi. This day you will visit Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Old Fort, Humayun's Tomb and Rajghat. All the places are situated on ring road of Delhi except Qutub Minar. Come back to your hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.Qutab Minar: Qutub Minar is the most recognized landmark of Delhi. Qutub Minar was built in 1199 AD by Qutubbudin. Even today, it is the highest stone and one of the finest stone towers in India. Qutub MInar is one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised in India. The tomb of Iltutmish, son of Qutubbudin, which he himself built in 1235 AD, is located nearby. The Lotus Temple: Lotus Temple also known as Bahai temple was completed in 1986. This place is a beautiful place surrounded by several beautiful gardens and pools. The structure of this temple is like a lotus that is why this temple is known by the name of Lotus Temple. The best time to visit this temple is in the evening. Old Fort: Old Fort is one of the oldest forts of India. Several emperors ruled this fort. Now a new light and sound show is held by the Department of Delhi Tourism every evening. If you are fond of watching animals and birds then you can also visit Delhi zoo near to this fort. Humayun's Tomb: Humayun's tomb is the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun built by his wife Hamida Banu in 1562 CE. This tomb is a beautiful complex of buildings designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect. This is the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rajghat: Raj Ghat is a memorial to Father of Nation, Mahatama Gandhi. It is a black marble plateform located on the banks of the River Yamuna. Two museums dedicated to Gandhi, including the National Gandhi Museum, are located near by. Day 3Wake up in the morning and after breakfast be ready to visit central Delhi. Most of the buildings of this place are constructed during the British era. Take a visit to such beautiful places like India Gate, Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Palika Bazaar, Delhi Haat etc. In the evening you are free for shopping from Connaught place market and Palika Bazaar market. You can also buy some exclusive things from Delhi Haat. Come back to your hotel in the evening for your dinner and overnight stay.India Gate: India Gate is one of the most precious buildings of Delhi. This place is a 42 meter high stone arch of triumph. You can see the names of the 85000 Indian Army Soldiers who died in World War I. Below the arch is the memorial to the unknown soldiers. This is also the most visited place by locals as these people come every weekend for picnic. Jantar Mantar: Jantar Mantar is very close to Connaught Place. Jantar Mantar is a strange collection of astronomical instruments built by Maharaja Jai Singh. This is a must visit place for all the foreign tourists as you can't see thing this ever in any other part of the world. Connaught Place and Palika Bazaar: As Delhi is the capital of India, it is the right place to shop for all those who love shopping. Delhi has numerous massive shopping complexes. Connaught Place and Palika Bazaar are two major shopping places of Delhi. You can easily find all types of items in these markets from cheapest to expensive one. Delhi Haat: This is one of the shopping sites of Delhi. Here you can easily find those things which are not easy to find at any other markets of Delhi. Delhi Haat is near INA market and known for shopping with ethnic food. Day 4Wake up in the morning, be fresh, take your breakfast and step out from your hotel for your further journey. |
